Tasty Tuesday- Tanner's Tasty Paste Review and Giveaway

Momma Told Me: Don't forget to brush your teeth!

I wasn't born with a good sense of oral hygiene. In fact, for the first 5 years I avoided it at all costs. That was, until I learned of cavities, and my pediatric dentist drilled the wrong tooth during a routine filling! You better believe I wasn't going to let that happen again, as I quickly found a new love for my teeth and their maintenance. But the adult toothpastes my mother bought were strong, and the fluoride menthol bases stung my sensitive taste buds. I'd often watch the pea sized glob of toothpaste wash down the sink under the running faucet, only to brush my teeth raw for fear of cavities!

When I learned about Tanner's Tasty Paste I was intrigued, but unsure of how it differed from other youth targeted pastes. Dr. Janelle Holden actually incorporated her knowledge and love of children's dentistry to create a line of child friendly toothpastes meant to make brushing more enjoyable for kids. Each of the line's flavors is specially formulated to be palette friendly, and appeal to tiny taste buds!

Sold in 4.2oz tubes, with a SRP of $6, Tanner's Tasty Paste comes in 3 flavorful varieties, Banilla Bling, Cha Cha Chocolate, and Baby Bling. Because no fluoride is used in Baby Bling, each tube of this unique paste has no expiration, and is considered much safer for child consumption. However, this doesn't mean you should eat it- so remember that when considering the flavor! In addition to using a salt based preservative, Tanner's Tasty Paste stands out with their corn starch packing peanuts. Each recycled cardboard box features these unique peanuts which dissolve in water, right down the kitchen sink! We actually had some fun with these in our house, and our kitty was thrilled to play with the safe alternative.

I received one tube of each Tanner's Tasty Paste for review. Banilla Bling is arguably the most popular, and is frequently out of stock! When I first popped the easy squeeze tube I could smell something sugary that reminded me of fresh cupcakes! The paste itself was surprisingly white, and a little gritty, though it foamed quite well in my mouth. To me, the taste was quite sweet- just the thing to have little hands reaching for their toothbrush every morning! Cha Cha Chocolate was a more mild, cocoa flavor, that lingered for a little while after brushing. Baby Bling was as sweet as Banilla Blig with a weaker vanilla ice cream like flavor. I actually preferred the fluoride free Baby Bling, as it left my teeth feeling quite clean!
