I never understood the point of rugs until I moved into my own house. Growing up Momma kept one in front and inside every door, in the bathrooms, kitchen, and under the living room table. It never seemed to make sense why my parents would go through such lengths to keep their carpet clean, and have chosen such nice carpeting in the first place, only to cover it up with rugs I considered tacky. Well, as it turns out, when you own that carpet, step on those cold bathroom tile floors, and spend hours a day cooking on hard floors in the kitchen, you begin to get the point. Accent rugs can truly tie a room together, welcome the new season, and set the tone for your home. Thankfully Madison at Main has hundreds to choose from with consideration to quality and cost.

Homefires rugs are generally thicker, and intended exclusively for indoors use, while the Jellybeans styles sometimes cross-over, yet are thinner and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. I had the chance to select a Homefires rug for review here on Momma Told Me and was surprised to find a price range between $28-$80 (over-sized and novelty shapes).

After near an hour of browsing the Homefires Accent category I had narrowed down my favorites to a humble 10 selections- there are so many styles, and so many themes! One of my favorites happened to be the appropriate Southern California themed Hawaiian Surfboard rugs that reach almost 6' in length. Instead, however, I let the hubby choose his favorite, a Texas reminiscent country rug; Horseshoe on Tooled Leather, which retails for $39.95 and measures 22"x34". This rug is entirely machine washable and, like all Madison at Main orders under $50, ships for just $5, with free shipping on orders over $50. Our rug arrived in a plastic packing sleeve, folded, with clear wrapping and a Homefires brand tag.

The rug was bigger than I'd envisioned, and the perfect size for a bathroom, or at the stove/sink in the kitchen. I was also impressed by how plush the 1" thickness was, with a generous pile build and well mounted non-slip backing. In fact, I love our Home Fires accent rug so much I've already been back to shop the larger area rugs- I could certainly see laying out along one in our living room. The colors on the Horseshoe and Tooled Leather design are beautifully rick, and the design is bold, yet simple. For $40, this is a quality rug, built to last, and perfect for accenting any room in the home. Ours has found it's new home in our bathroom where it protects my feet from the cold tile on midnight potty runs, and brightens the decor.
