Snoozer Full Body Pillow Review and Giveaway!

Momma Told Me: I had to kick you out of our bed- when you'd sleep with us we'd wake up black and blue!

My entire life I have chased the elusive restful night's sleep. (I'm told) As a child I would toss and turn so violently my parents described me as 'sleep boxing', and in my teens I develops a nasty nighttime post nasal drip that left my constantly clearing my throat throughout the night. Perhaps it all began listening to Pop's wall shuttering snores in Momma's womb, or the constant feeling that, by sleeping, I would miss out on an amazing adventure or fantastical fun. It never seemed to bother me much until more recent adulthood. Year and year I take on more ambitions, and, since switching to at-home work, it's hard for me to separate much needed rest time from 'could be on the computer potentially making money' time. Combine this with the hubby's epic snoring, and own sleep karate, as well as my constant need to 'cuddle', and I'm on the verge of a mess.

For years, it has been my darkest secret that I sleep with a barricade of pillows and fluff (more recently, since discovering Pillow Pets, a stuffed panda that has removed any form of independence at night). I must say it is quite embarrassing to be married, on the verge of 25, and sleeping with a panda pillow under one arm- and letting anyone see our bedroom with said panda is simply out of the question. Before we were married I warned the hubby that, while he had his snoring, I had my own sleeping peculiarities. He tried to accommodate my comfort by offering himself as a cuddle prop, but often falls asleep long before me, and is not nearly as 'soft' as my pillow barricade. And so the 3 pillow system was officially born. For the past 2 years I have slept hugging a Panda Pillow, leaning on a throw pillow, and with an extra large cushion pillow between my feet. It's a system which for the most part works by way of comfort, but is a constant fight throughout the night, whenever I change positions or wake up to frantically relocate my pillows.

For years I have hopefully eyed so called 'pregnancy' pillows, which promised supreme comfort and rest for those supporting two- but found myself too embarrassed to purchase a product most associated with pregnancy. When I stumbled across Snoozer Body Pillows I was overjoyed to find the focus off of labels and on comfort. In fact, their body pillows are marketed to every demographic from men and women, to children, and even hotels! While their pillows are certainly pregnancy safe, and especially recommended, Snoozer also offers the only machine washable pregnancy/non-pregnancy body pillow on the market! This had always been another concern of mine when considering a body pillow, hygiene. Most pillows these size fetch an asking price between $99-$200 and carry a product life less than the typical bed pillow. I certainly couldn't afford to fall in love with such a sleep system and be forced to replace it every 4-6 months. Snoozer pillows, if cared for, and washed properly, can last up to 5 years!

Available in Full, Upper, and Jr sizes, Snoozer also offers multiple fills from the ultra-premium White European Natural Goose Down (SRV: $179) to the more economical Polyfill Synthetic Down (SRV: $59). While I appreciate the 4 price tiers, to fit consumer budgets, I think the focus (when shopping for a Snoozer) should be on it's one of a kind machine washable convenience and the filling that is appropriate for it's user (based on allergies and comfort). For those not pregnant, or currently managing a multi-pillow support system, a Snoozer may seem unnecessary. In truth, Snoozer's can actually replace your primary bed pillow (thanks to it's unique 'J' shape) and offer much needed support standard mattresses lack. The Snoozer Full Body Pillow is said to promote proper spinal alignment, improve nighttime breathing and muscle relaxation, as well as naturally reduce head, neck, and back pain.

Those are certainly some powerful claims for such a large, and silly, looking pillow- so, naturally, I was glad to put the Snoozer to the test in my own bed. Thanks to Snoozer(R), I was provided a Snoozer DreamWeaver(TM) Heavenly Down -MSRP $99.99, and a Snoozer(R) Ergoloft(TM)-$59.99. Full Body Pillow for review here on Momma Told Me. My pillows arrived in a comforter like zipper storage pouch and with included pillow cases. Pillow cases are sold through the Snoozer online shop for $19.99 and made of luxury soft Sateen, which gives the case a soft sheen that is very inviting. I do have to say, however, I'd love the company to offer their pillowcases in a few other basic colors as this bone white pillow is rather large and conspicuous on my bed, and somewhat stain prone. The included pillow case extends about 10 inches past the pillows end and was a bit of a pain to put on (like a giant sock), but that's pretty much the extent of my criticism now 1 week later.

It's hard to know where to begin when describing the difference my Snoozers have made, so significantly, and so quickly. The first night, I'll admit it was a bit foreign, and I felt like I was betraying my Pillow Pet, but the overall continuous support was impressive. It didn't take long to get comfortable and, having used the Heavenly Down the first night, I woke up the next morning rushing to hide the second pillow (no sense in the hubby discovering how comfortable these were!) The synthetic down fill of Snoozer's Heavenly Down Synthetic Micro Fiber Full Body Pillow was impressively smooth, and cool in the summer's heat. I loved the way my body melted into it, and how light it was to shift with throughout the night. The micro fiber filler proved to be (in fact) heavier than the economical Synthetic Down fill. Additionally, the Heavenly Down pillow returned to it's original shape more fluidly and quicker, where the Polyfill synthetic Down blend seemed to take more of a beating in the night (a great option for children and young adults).

Our Snoozers have also made it out of the bedroom, to the couch once in a while for lumbar support. So far the hubby has maintained a 'manly' stance on the whole body pillow issue, refusing to claim one- but I still catch him 'borrowing' mine in the mornings. The Full Body Snoozer truly is endlessly versatile. I enjoy kicking a leg up over the curved end while watching TV in bed, and appreciate the soft barrier it provides when tossing and arm across to snuggle with the hubby at night. In fact, just the other night I fell asleep with my head against his shoulder, and an arm across his chest, something I haven't been able to do in years- thanks to my Snoozer!
