Sacred Ways' Tense Men's Ebony Rose Watch Review

I’ve been perusing the internet recently, looking for something different; not the same old stuff. I guess that I was just getting board of seeing things that are “cookie-cutter” products, for lack of a better term. That’s when I found this really unique website called Sacred Ways.

“Sacred Ways is all about an ideal: a belief that certain handmade crafts not only convey beauty and distinction, but also meaning, a meaning that’s simply not present in most merchandise found on the shelves of the local superstore or warehouse club.” That’s their premise and business model; which is exactly what I was looking for. Their products are things that you “need” to buy; but they are not your “run of the mill” product offerings, far from it, actually.

This company features handcrafted gifts. As a former “Crafter” this is, particularly, close to my heart. There is nothing like the feeling of sharing your wares and story with the person purchasing from you. These items are enhanced by the stories about their artisans and craftsmen that create these, functional and elegant, pieces of art. Machines simply cannot create the “heart and soul” that goes along with something that is, purely, manufactured via human hands.

The Sacred Ways’ Tense Men's Ebony Rose Wooden Watch is an excellent example of the unique products offered on their website. This watch is made out of rose and ebony sandalwood. Yes; I did say wood. For the purposes of conducting this review; my husband, David, graciously offered to be the model and “official male viewpoint”.

My husband’s (2-cents worth)….

• The Rose and Ebony Sandalwood feels good against your skin.
• The beauty of the wood has a subtle elegance.
• The adjustability of the band ensures a perfect fit.
• The dial is classic and easy to read.
• Its lightweight design doesn't weigh you down like a boat anchor.
• The instructions are straight forward and printed in numerous
languages.
• The color makes it compatible with most any attire.
• The uniqueness of this timepiece is a natural conversation starter.

It can be worn casually or with a business suit. David says “Perfect for a night out with your lady or appropriate for the office.” This watch features a beautiful and unique color combination of various tones of sandalwood. It's well suited both men and women. Speaking of that; it is available for both sexes. The retail price for either one is only $87.00. That’s an amazing price for a hand-made watch of this quality.

The colors and patterns will vary on these watches due to the fact that they are made from real wood. Each Tense Wooden Watch is a one-of-a-kind item, unique unto itself. The Men's watches fit wrists up to approximately 8 1/2"; the women's watches fit wrists up to about 7 1/2". Extra links are available from the manufacturer.

The links are easy to remove and replace with a small "micro" screwdriver. Note: We had to take two links out, in order for this band to fit my husband properly. It was very easy to do with the right tool. In the event that you don’t have the screwdriver; just take it to Watch Guy or Jeweler. They will charge a couple of dollars to do it for you. I did it myself; but admittedly I was a little nervous. The wood is soft and can be scratched if you are not careful. I didn’t want to mar the beautiful wood finish. The Watch is battery operated, with a two-year warranty, Miyota (makers of Citizen) movement, and natural solid sandalwood from plantation-grown trees.
The bottom line is that David loves this watch. He is very impressed with the packaging and presentation of it, as well. It would make an excellent gift for that, someone special, in your life.
