My generation has been quite fortunate to have watched the, seemingly, overnight evolution of modern technology. I still recall the very first Apple (MAC) PC, and again meeting my nemesis (the MAC) in Art School Illustration. I remember, even the bulky behemoth desktops, of Apple, were still sleek and sexy with their rounded frames and colorful design. Of course, I never would have thought, in my lifetime, I'd see a phone that doubled as a computer, or a 'tablet' that surpassed the most expensive PC of my childhood. Yes, the times, they are-a-changing.
While modern technology may be decreasing in size, and becoming more (financially) available to the modern consumer; the need for protection of these devices does not dwindle. After finally taking the leap and buying my very first tablet (IPAD2) a few months back, I remember the uncertainty about it's transportation. A device I had primarily bought to aid in work, on the go, conjured terrifying thoughts of me leaving it in a waiting room, or watching it slide out of my purse onto asphalt while crossing the street. At first I was afraid to even remove it from the box and activate it. Then I decided it should never leave the house. (A little backwards in retrospect to my whole reasoning for buying it!) I purchased an $18 screen protector, and invested in an $80 leather folio; but I was still terrified.
When I came across Kaboo I was immediately smitten with the vibrant colors and trendy fashions of, what appeared to be, an ordinary accessories brand. Sure, the name 'Kaboo' was fresh and fun, but the handbags really spoke for themselves. Many of the design templates integrated retro silhouettes with geometrical accents and lively finishes. I had first come across the Roxie- and it was love at first sight. I wanted to own this handbag as part of my purse collection; to dress up an outfit and hit the town. I had no idea there was a sassy secret hidden inside. Kaboo bags are designed by modern women, for modern women, with a tech savvy consideration that seamlessly blends one's on-the-go life with fierce fashion.
Kaboo's Designer Handbags for Women feature a patented Tech Pouch that effectively conceals and protects most modern tablet devices, while still keeping them easily accessible. Having used my leather folio case for a few months now, I love it's protection, but find myself easily frustrated with storing it on the go. The folio tends to be too bulky for my purse, and not necessarily a good fit for ever (fashion) occasion. Kaboo handbags offer the solution of a discreet storage space that absorbs shock and protects your tablet device from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Because the Tech Pouch can securely store a tablet, without that 'look at me, I'm a tablet' effect, your tech devices are much more safe from theft. The tech pouch also offers an expandable pocket (to accommodate various sizes of tablets, and even folio cased tech). Best of all, Kaboo bags still offer all the utilitarian consideration of most other modern handbags!
When I received my new Kaboo Olivia in Turquoise I could hardly wait to open the chic black box and fold past the complimentary purse bag. Amid a vibrant pattern of vertical waves was the wonderfully deep aqua hue of my Olivia. Also nestled inside a little velvet pouch was a pair of Kaboo headphones with red accent. Out of the collection, I find the Olivia is entirely unsuspecting, in regards to it's dual purpose tech transport capabilities. I wouldn't be able to pick it out, in that regard, from a lineup- it is simply that chic and fashion savvy. With it's hobo inspired design, the interior capacity is a little less than my traditional purse, but this also cuts down on the urge to chock it full of extras that might knock into your tablet during transport.
The interior lining, very similar to that of the packaging box, has a modern, and bold, zig zag (Chevron) motif that is accented with a cool toned gray. Inside you'll find 3 soft touch pockets for storage and organization of your phone and various beauty essentials. There are also 3 easy access exterior pockets, with silver-tone hardware, for necessities such as keys. The giant pocket on the front actually doubles as a design accent and functional pouch, where I like to store my phone for quick access. As for the unique Kaboo Tech Pouch, which reminds me of sleek padded tablet protectors- I've found it's much more intricate than it looks. While the pouch has a simple slide in and snap shut operation, it is actually designed to be extremely shock absorbent. This protects your gear from more than bumps and knocks, but the natural vibrations in transport. It's also easily expandable, to accommodate various sized tablets, net books, and small screen laptops.
One of the things I found myself worrying about, most, when I invested in my iPad was the ability to transport it safely and inconspicuously. Many tablet covers and cases scream "here's my expensive tech device, snatch me!" and can make you a target for theft. I love that the Kaboo, even when looking in from above, masks the presence of my electronic devices, while protecting them in transit. I can also threat the included earbuds from my device to my ears, and stream content from the Kaboo while browsing shops downtown, or waiting at the doctor's office. I couldn't be happier about the appearance or function of my Kaboo, and am already contemplating my next acquisition (something bigger, perhaps- in yellow or cherry red- too many choices!)
