Fan The Artificial Flames This Valentines, With Energizer Flameless Wax Candles Giveaway~ 2/10

Energizer
Momma Told Me: You're just burning money now!

While Momma, an avid candle burner, never said the above in relation to candles; I've often wondered how to fit my own passion for candles into my often tight budget. When renting having an open flame 'just for the setting' or mood, was simply out of the question. I couldn't risk one of the household children would send something careening into a candle and start a fire, or worse, that I would forget to tamper it and leave the building with the flame still raging. Candles have been around for centuries, yes, but that does not make them any more safe. Certainly us humans are more knowledgeable of the risks, and mindful of our burning, yes, but the probability for catastrophe increases with distraction and additional personalities. I only burn real candles for scent and lighting when I am the only variable around to  compromise it (and even then I have pets, much like children, to look out for). But that doesn't mean I have to compromise the romantic setting of flickering light, or the wafting fragrance of Vanilla and Honeysuckle. That's right, I fake it.
Flameless Candles
I've relied on beeswax and soy based candles my entire life, for everything from a pumpkin's glow to an unforeseen power outtage. I never would have bet I'd be sitting here typing up a post pro artificial candle light, but here I am. In 2012 Energizer released a growing collection of Flameless Wax Candles specially designed to function with their trusted name of batteries. To lump these into the category of fake, or imitation, candles would truly be a disservice. Not only are these varied pillars made of genuine wax that gives off a fragrance when heated, the highly advanced LED that illuminates them realistically dances and flickers. That is to say that Energizer's Flameless Wax Candles offer an experience comparable to a live burning candle, without the potential risk. Even better, these 'tech candles' feature some unique selling points one could never rely on with an active flame candle. The user can not only set the device on a timer that will turn off after a certain duration of time, but turn back on at the same time the following day.
Available in traditional pillar sizes, and fragrances such as Green Apple or Eucalyptus Mint, these Flameless Wax Candles are also produced in various colors to match decor and setting. The Red Pillar Multipack would make any Valentine's setting quite romantic alongside a few 3x6" Ivory Pillars. While the tech details are quite exciting, one of the features I love most about these lightly scented candles is their exterior texture to the touch, Real beeswax surrounds the LED and electronic encasing, making them slightly rough, yet incredibly real. In a dimmed room the flicker pattern proved entirely undetectable as a 'fake' flame. Despite my best efforts I couldn't spot a 'loop' in the light animation, while the fragrance carried throughout the house much like some of my finer flame based candles.
Setting up an Energizer Flameless Candle is as easy as removing it from the packaging and flipping it over to reveal the easy-open battery compartment. Older models seem to run on AA's, while some of the newer pillars take 3 AAAs for up to 150 hours of continued run time. You'd never be able to expect that from a wax burning candle of the same size! On the bottom, by the battery compartment, you'll also find 2 timer controls; one to set the duration of 'burn time,' and another to inform the device whether you'd like it resume the same schedule daily. This means I can have my flameless candles turn on and 'burn' for 4, 6, or 8 hours each day, and turn off, without ever having touched them. This is particularly useful for mood lighting in shelving and other hard to reach places where candles might achieve a mood. On a 4 hour, daily, schedule these flameless candles can be expected to run well over a month without requiring a battery change; at which point I'd likely be taking them down for a quick dust anyhow.
These Energizer Flameless Candles are optimized to work best with Energizer Max batteries, which feature the brand's Power Seal technology to last in storage up to 10 years. This makes them a great pair for those who want to stock up on these Flameless Candles for an emergency, where they can rest assured the power to operate them will be there when they need it. Energizer's Flameless Candles are sold nationwide at major retailers such as WalMart and Target, and can be ordered directly from the manufacturer, in an assortment of scents and colors, online. Be sure to pick a few up for this Valentine's Day, without the open flames you'll be sure to be able to relax and enjoy the time with your partner all the more. Best off all, the candles will still remain to light the flame of those memories for years to come!

  9. 3 x 4 pillar in ivory. I could really use these! My best friend has a house fire the day before Christmas due to -- of course -- an unattended candle. Definitely scared me off of pillars or tapers throughout the house.
