I get teased a lot in regards to my passion for pets. I regularly donate to 5 different animal related charitable organizations, and I make a point to bring a load of food, toys, and supplies to our local shelter at least every other month. It's been said that I'd donate a limb to an animal in need, if possible, and it's probably not an exaggeration. While I actively donate and support several causes for many it can seem overwhelming knowing where to start. I'm especially excited to share with you the latest philanthropic
commitment of our favorite pet store, PetSmart- Now through December 31,
2017, for every bag of dog or cat food purchased online and at all its 1,500-plus
stores across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, the PetSmart will donate a meal to a pet in need thank to their Buy A Bag, Give A Meal™ program! It's an initiative the major specialty pet retailer hopes will lead to the donation of more than 60
million meals.
There's no special packaging to hunt for, no exclusive brand list to shop from, and no messy rebates or forms to fill out. Just head into your local PetSmart as many times as you'd like between now and December 31, 2017 and shop for your dog or cat's favorite bagged dry food. For every bag purchased the Buy A Bag, Give A Meal™ program will donate a meal to a pet in need thanks to organization partnerships with it's nonprofit partner PetSmart Charities®. Every size, no matter the brand, of bagged dog or cat food counts, and you need to do nothing more than shop for the food your pet already knows and loves.
I shared the news with Nora the Morkie today, after reading the exciting press release, and she seemed convince her part in the effort is 'eating as much food as possible so my human has to buy more.' I'm convinced she already does this, because we seem to be shopping more often at PetSmart, regardless as of lately. After all, it's not every store a dog wearing a teddy bear onesie gets to roam the aisles 'inspecting' merchandise in plain sight!
As a family that already considers themselves PetSmart loyalists I love how the chain is allowing us to give back just a little more without demanding anything special from us, the consumers.Surely 60 millions meals donated adds up to more than just chump change, and with customers such as you and I the potential to exceed that projection is certainly in sight.
