Momma Told Me: Don't forget that in the freezer!

We have a small fridge that is completely inadequate for the amount of grocery shopping I do for our 3 person household. Some might say, "Well, get a bigger fridge," but the simple fact is that the current refrigerator is as big as the designated space can handle. With three adults in the household, we all eat and drink different things; only adding to the constant clutter. I seem to deep clean it at least once a month to find some forgotten condiment, over-turned bottle of cranberry juice, or science experiment growing in the back of the forest of goods. All this with a strict "If it's not going to be consumed imminently, it doesn't belong in the fridge," rule, in place. Naturally, not every guest wants to drink our 3 choices of beverages, and not every occasion calls for soda, water, or juice.

I have a fairly large collection of wines I have received as a gift, or brought home on clearance from the grocer. There is an entire shelf dedicated to these spirits, yet we consume alcohol socially, and typically less than once a month. As someone who likes to offer her guests a dessert wine, I'll often forget to place the bottle in the fridge until halfway through dinner. Then there's inevitably someone who prefers the sweeter blend over the more tart and fruity one, and in goes a second bottle of wine in the freezer. Sound familiar?

If you've ever found yourself entertaining, or simply craving a new drink you just brought home from the market, there's now a solution to the age old 'Place it in the freezer and hope it doesn't explode, when forgotten 3 hours later,' dilemma. The Cooper Cooler is a portable kitchen appliance that is light weight and can operate anywhere there is ice, water, and a power source- it even has the option of a car adapter. Consider it your own personal beverage fridge. This revolutionary rapid beverage chiller uses a logical combination of rotation and total immersion to dispense icy water over the entire surface of your beverage for superior cooling in as little as a few minutes.
With settings for cans, bottles, and wine, there are three timed modes that will literally chill your beverages while you set the banquet table, invite guests in, or clean up the meal's dishes. It's as easy as adding ice and filling to the internal fill line. Then place the but of your beverage against the back wall of the unit, on the internal agitator. Close the translucent lid and press the corresponding mode button. For bottles that are thicker, or containers that may be warmer than room temperature, you can add an additional chilling cycle via the easy operate button pad on the front. While the patented system works by rotating the beverage as chilled water of dispensed over the top, you may also run a no 'spin' cycle that may work better for bottles with delicate labels or a lower chill level.

The Cooper Cooler does efficiently chill cans in as little as 1 minute, and had my favorite bottle of white wine ready in just over 4. It's important to notice the important design of the removable 'wine' lid, which slides from the front of the unit's top to allow bottle necks to rest freely. You should never operate your Cooper Cooler with the lid cracked up or resting on a bottle as this will cause water to spray everywhere and may damage the unit. While the water does seem to agitate everywhere inside the lid during operation, clean-up is as simple as wiping it down and allowing it to properly air before re-storing. Do expect a little operational noise during the chilling process as the internal agitator spins your beverage for even chilling. Larger containers seem to make less noise, while smaller containers will tumble a little inside the cavity during use. I describe the noise as a 'quiet blender.'

While the Cooper Cooler is not something that is used daily in our home it is one of those innovative products that easily saves the day during the busy holiday season, or on the go at a tailgating party or sporting event. Bringing a bulky cooler full of everyone's favorite beverages can be messy and awkward, with the Cooper Cooler Tailgater's included car adapter I can chill any beverage to optimal temperate with just a single bag of ice. If you're considering investing in a mini-fridge for that man-cave, this is certainly the more affordable, and energy efficient way to go. And, just think of the novelty of being able to consume any beverage on the whim of a mood! Use exclusive Promo Code: MTM-AW-5-21-14 for $10 off of a cooper cooler at www.air-n-water.com!

  1. You can also use it to warm a baby bottle by using hot, not boiling, water, instead of ice. The milk or formula will never be hotter than the water you add to the unit.
